Loved up autumnal pre-wedding shoot at The Mill Barns, Shropshire

Simi and Matt's wedding days will be our first of the 2018 season. They've planned what will no doubt be beautiful spring wedding ceremonies in February. Firstly they'll celebrate their Sikh ceremony in Birmingham, then the day after a second ceremony and set of celebrations at the wonderful Mill Barns.

We've got a handful of wedding shoots booked at the Mill Barns in 2018, it's a venue we've been looking forward to shooting at for a while now. I remember our first couple booking us for their wedding there, back before the venue had even been built! You know a venue is going to be special when couples have the courage and foresight to book before actually seeing it built and completed. Visiting for the first time during Simi and Matt's pre-wedding shoot, The Mill Barns didn't disappoint. Located between Kidderminster and Bridgnorth; formerly the site of a 17th century watermill. It has light and airy ceremony and reception rooms lined with large windows and exposed timber beams. I have no doubt it will be a joy to shoot there with all that natural light flooding in.

The venue is lucky enough to also features some beautiful grounds, incorporating a stream and small lake. It’s where Simi, Matt and I wandered around to practice in front of the camera and prepare for their wedding days. We met at the tail end of the autumn, so we had beautiful backdrops of oranges and yellows, not to mention one of my favourite ingredients for a portrait shoot; a willow tree.

February will be here before we know it, so I'm sure it won't be long before we can share some photos of what undoubtedly is going to be an awesome couple of days, with an awesome couple.
